New Snow Leopard!

Here are some features of the next Mac OS release!

A Quantum Leap.

Since 2001, Mac OS X has delivered more than a thousand innovative new features. With Snow Leopard, the next major version of the world’s most advanced operating system, Mac OS X changes more than its spots, it changes focus. Taking a break from adding new features, Snow Leopard — scheduled to ship in about a year — builds on Leopard’s enormous innovations by delivering a new generation of core software technologies that will streamline Mac OS X, enhance its performance, and set new standards for quality. Snow Leopard dramatically reduces the footprint of Mac OS X, making it even more efficient for users, and giving them back valuable hard drive space for their music and photos.

Microsoft Exchange Support

Snow Leopard includes out-of-the-box support for Microsoft Exchange 2007 built into Mail, Address Book, and iCal. Mac OS X uses the Exchange Web Services protocol to provide access to Exchange Server 2007. Because Exchange is supported on your Mac and iPhone, you’ll be able to use them anywhere with full access to your email, contacts, and calendar.

To accommodate the enormous amounts of memory being added to advanced hardware, Snow Leopard extends the 64-bit technology in Mac OS X to support breakthrough amounts of RAM — up to a theoretical 16TB, or 500 times more than what is possible today. More RAM makes applications run faster, because more of their data can be kept in the very fast physical RAM instead of on the much slower hard disk.

Media and Internet

Using media technology pioneered in OS X iPhone, Snow Leopard introduces QuickTime X, a streamlined, next-generation platform that advances modern media and Internet standards. QuickTime X features optimized support for modern codecs and more efficient media playback, making it ideal for any application that needs to play media content.

Because Snow Leopard delivers the fastest implementation of JavaScript to date, web applications are more responsive. Safari runs JavaScript up to 53 percent faster with Snow Leopard.

“Grand Central,” a new set of technologies built into Snow Leopard, brings unrivaled support for multicore systems to Mac OS X. More cores, not faster clock speeds, drive performance increases in today’s processors. Grand Central takes full advantage by making all of Mac OS X multicore aware and optimizing it for allocating tasks across multiple cores and processors. Grand Central also makes it much easier for developers to create programs that squeeze every last drop of power from multicore systems.

Another powerful Snow Leopard technology, OpenCL (Open Computing Language), makes it possible for developers to efficiently tap the vast gigaflops of computing power currently locked up in the graphics processing unit (GPU). With GPUs approaching processing speeds of a trillion operations per second, they’re capable of considerably more than just drawing pictures. OpenCL takes that power and redirects it for general-purpose computing. Source. Cheers!

Cairo Dock

Here is people, Cairo Dock… the first dock i always used was Awn Dock, the Dock I always wanned was Kibba Dock, which looks cool by the way, but after I installed Cairo Dock its changed my mind, I didn’t really think that it will look and change so easy, and yes like it too. So I think u should try it and make your own opinion about it.

It is compatible with Compiz-Fusion, Beryl, Compiz, and also Xcompmgr, but it can run without a composite manager (with fake transparency). Cairo-Dock can run under GNOME, KDE, and XFCE.

How to install Cairo Dock

Cairo Dock is really easy to install…..

First download the two DEB latest packages from this link ,

1. The cairo-dock_v1.6.0.2_i686.deb

2.Then cairo-dock-plug-ins_v1.6.1.2_i686.deb

and simply double click them;

one at the time first the Cairo-dock package and then the Cairo-dock-plug-ings and thats really it.

To find it on your system Go to Aplications-System Tools-Cairo Dock and there is….. The first time The dock runs will send you to the Theme manager so make your pick, customized and have fun !!!

This dock has many different themes and u can add or remove applets, make stacks, change the main dock and sub-docks, change the way this ones display and more………

I like this one !

The specification page is here , I don’t know how would it works in a 64 bit system, but if u need any help just let me know .

New iPhone3G

Apple is launching the new and most incredible (for me) phone ever seen in the world. Introducing iPhone 3G. With fast 3G wireless technology, GPS mapping, support for enterprise features like Microsoft Exchange, and the new App Store, iPhone 3G puts even more features at your fingertips. And like the original iPhone, it combines three products in one — a revolutionary phone, a widescreen iPod, and a breakthrough Internet device with rich HTML email and a desktop-class web browser. iPhone 3G. It redefines what a mobile phone can do — again. It schedule to be release in July 11.

It has a lot of cool features. To bad I can’t get one

iPhone 3G will come with more features than the first one you can read more about them in Apple’s page.
