Some years back I posted about this great program called TuxGuitar. Tux Guitar is a free sheet music editor and composition editor program it works with Linux, Windows, Mac and FreeBSD. This is somewhat of an update for that post and to show you how much it has evolved these past couple of years.
I am going to show you how to get any sheet music for, almost, any song out there that you would like to learn how to play and the coolest part is that is completely free.
1. Get the program, here, download and install.
2. To get any MIDI file simply open your favorite browser and go to Google.com and search for it, ex Fields of Gold by Sting MIDI.
3. Open TuxGuitar and go to File>Import>MIDI, now browse where your file is located and import it into the program.
4. Once you are in the program its time to learn it. From here you are able to listen to the track and transpose the file up and down to any key and it’ll shows you every note. Hope this helps, enjoy Cheers!!!
