Whole New GnomeDo-Docky, Rock out with your Dock Out!

For those enthusiast that love GnomeDo Im sure you will be glad to hear that the new release of this incredible application is out.

gniome-dockyGnome Do 0.8 has 20 new plugins here are some of them Banshee, Bibtex, Cl.ickable, Claws mail, Google search, Opera, Ping.FM, Remember the Milk, System services, TinyUrl, Tracker search, and Translate to name a few. Plugins also install much faster now.


There is different ways to install Gnome Do

Ubuntu 8.10

Add the following repository lines to your sources list

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/do-core/ppa/ubuntu intrepid maindeb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/do-core/ppa/ubuntu intrepid main

Also you can install it by Synaptic Package Manager just search ‘gnome do’ and apply changes.

Ubuntu 8.04

Add these repository lines to your sources list

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/do-core/ubuntu hardy main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/do-core/ubuntu hardy main

and also you can do the same thing with Synaptic Package Manager search “gnome do” and apply the changes.

New Features

Animated Themes

Gnome Do has some new themes : Classic, Mini, Glass, and the newly added Nouveau and Docky , with new animations and dropshadows.


File Previews

Also DO  preliminary support for viewing file thumbnails, so you can better recognize the images, movies, and documents you encounter in Do. If your file manager displays thumnails, Do will attempt to show them.

And of Course- Docky

Docky is the attempt to make Do more discoverable and memorable. It’s the same Do you know and love, just a little friendlier.
