This past semester was my last semester in school, finally I after 20 years in school I was through with it. Funny story how it happened, about a week before fall semester ended I went up to my adviser to get my classes and get my schedule right when up to see him three time that day and the last time I sat down with him and he started to go over my classes that I took in the past when all of the sudden he was like “Sir” I said yes “You have enough credits to graduate” with all my excitement within me I screamed hell yeah. It was a surprise for both of us me and my adviser.

I guess what I am trying to say is that Im gonna do my best to add new posts to the blog and I will like to thank you guys for being patient with me and thanks for visiting the blog, is going to be pretty interesting this next months. Cheers!!!!!!

Hello world is good to be back, firstly I would like to apologize because I have not made any kind of posts at all this do to me going to school and getting caught up with homework and tests and everything else but I am here now and I am going to do my best to bring you what ever I can please accept my apologize again, and now for the posts.

Docky is a fronted for GNOME Do that introduces an entirely new way to interact with Do. Docky helps Do become more directly involved with your desktop by providing a persistent mouse based Dock interface while remaining true to Do’s keyboard only interaction. Being tied directly into Do allows Docky to be adaptive and dynamic. Docky can do whatever Do can and a little bit more.

New Features for Docky:

• Drag and Drop items onto the Dock (files, folders, and applications from the menu)
• Drag and Drop remove items from the dock
• Drag and Drop items into folders on the dock, as well as the trash can.
• Drag and Drop reordering of items on the dock
• Image previews of items which support it
• True parabolic zoom (can be disabled)
• Click animations
• Intuitive resizing by dragging on the dock separator
• Adding and removing “Statistical Items” (items which Do considers relevant to you) from the dock by dragging the left and right edges
• Window indicators (supports advanced window indicators)
• Advanced window management features via the Window Manager plugin for GNOME Do
• The ability to make Docky Automatically Hide when not being hovered. Often referred to as autohide.
• A full frontend to GNOME Do
• Add items to docky from GNOME Do searches

Now for the install Part, the fun part (not really)

First we need to add the software source ppa:docky-core/ppa and install the package, we are going to do this in the terminal open it and type this below. Hit enter after each line.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:docky-core/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install docky

This is all now to open Docky go to Application>Accessories>Docky it will open just a simple bar to customize it just drag and drop applications on it. Source, Cheersssssssss!!!!!!!

Many existing version control systems use a centralised model, a particular challenge to globally distributed ‘chase the sun’ development teams, or environments where there is a frequent need to merge or branch code. What is Desktop Drape? Desktop drapes is a wallpaper manager application for the gnome desktop. It can randomly changing your wallpaper every once in a while, or whenever you fell like it. It can also automatically pickup any wallpapers you added to a directory with the ninja magic of notify.

Is very easy to install it just go to Synaptic Package Manager, go to System>Administration>Synaptic Package Manager and type “Desktop Drapes install and you are done.

Or if you prefer use the terminal just type “sudo apt-get install drapes”

Now in order for you to open this app you will have to go to System>Preferences>Desktop Drapes once you open it is going to sit on top right of your screen like a little applet right click it and set it up. Here is how to install it, (if you have Elisa Media Center or any other Media Center make sure to uninstalled it because it is not compatible with them)

1. – First of all we must edit the source list simply open the terminal and type

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

2. – After the list is open go all the way to the bottom and type this two lines

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/moovida-packagers/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/moovida-packagers/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main

Saved  and exit out.

3. – Open terminal again (if you did not close it it should be open) and type the keys of the new repository and then we update it

gpg –keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com –recv 26C2E075 && \
gpg –export –armor 26C2E075 | sudo apt-key add – && \
sudo aptitude update

after you did this it should look like this

before you exit the terminal make sure to update the source list sudo apt-get update

4. – Now all that we have to do is type the lines to install Moovida just type this on the terminal

sudo aptitude install moovida

and you are all done my friends, you can find Moovida in Applications > Sound & Video > Moovida Media Center.
